More than 300 non-profits, broadband providers, local governments, digital navigators, empowered community members, and more joined the Illinois Broadband Lab for the inaugural Illinois Connected Summit on May 8-10. With participants representing every corner of the state, the Illinois ecosystem showed up for digital equity, offering confidence in our ability to reach a fully connected future. Check out the recap video and photos from the event, with session recordings coming soon.
The three-day event was unique for more reasons than one:
• Community leaders attended broadband deployment workshops to hear stories about how local coordination and provider partnerships can help bring quality connection to their neighbors.
• Internet service providers leaned into digital navigator workshops, seeking ways to collaborate with community-based organizations to expand connectivity.
• Chicago-based non-profits brainstormed alongside rural internet service providers, all working toward the same mission of making digital opportunities available to all.
The summit was filled with expert panels, informative workshops, and networking events that offered an opportunity to learn, build partnerships, and celebrate Illinois’ accomplishments to date.
